Newsletter 5 July 2019
Sorry for the delay in the newsletter department. Friday last week was very busy with all the fun activities taking part and welcoming new tasters into setting ready for their start come September.
We have been very lucky this week weather wise with the sun staying out all week, which has given the children the opportunity to make the most of outside and water play. They have loved making their very own paddling pool and even tried their best with aiming games as they shot water balloons at varied targets (mainly the ladies). The children have very much loved the water activities and we hope to carry this on into next week due to popularity. It is at this time that we remind parents to bring extra sets of clothing and wellies as the children very often need changing, sometime several times daily, although we do try and dry clothing where possible. The water play is huge part of learning and developing a child’s personal, social and emotional skills and this is something as a setting we highly promote same as messy play and will continue to allow these opportunities when possible.
Lost property is currently been stored on the shelf in the cloakroom. We ask if you could have a look through to see if your child has any belongings they may have left over this term if not these will be donated to our spare clothes collection or to charity as you can respect we cannot keep these for the foreseeable. Thank you.
We have been given dates and times for the children’s transitional visits to Longman’s Hill and the last session is as follows:
Wednesday 10th July 1:30pm – 2:30pm. (Headstart doors will open at 1:15pm with no return. Please note dinner session available on this day).
These sessions are not compulsory but set up to give your child the best possible opportunity to make the transition from preschool to school life. Please speak to Monika or Kirsty if you have questions on these transitional visits.
Dates for your diary: the term will now run up until Friday 19th July 2019. Friday 19th July is our last session for all children, with the school leavers enjoying their leaver’s trip to Piglets on this day and the remaining children having a fun day. This will also be Kirsty’s last day before starting maternity.
The new dates for next year will be published very shortly.
Polite reminder: Brayton Headstart is a NUT FREE setting. Can we refrain from putting anything containing nuts in pack ups, including chocolate spread and peanut butter. We have a child in setting that is severely allergic to nuts and is in use of an EPI pen due to serious risk of anaphylactic shock. Any pack ups that contain nuts will be disposed of due to the serious nature of the risk to the child.
We have been very lucky this week with our regular student Emily staying on with until the end of term. Also this week you would have seen our work experience student Gemma. She has settled into setting amazingly and the children love her.
The registers are looking extremely healthy for the academic year 2019-2020 and we encourage those that are hoping for extra sessions come September and the following year to book now as spaces are limited. Please feel free to speak to Monika or Kirsty if you are wanting to extend any sessions so we can try and accommodate and prioritise those that are already in setting.
