Newsletter 12 April 2019
We have been able to use the big garden again this week and the children have loved been physical, running around and manoeuvring around obstacles. We have been balancing on beams and climbing our climbing wall. In connection with this we have been talking about healthy foods and how exercise affects our bodies.
Thank you to those that have returned their school leavers trip replies and monies. There are still some outstanding can we ensure that they are in setting promptly so that we can organise the trip and staff accordingly.
Session checklists have been sent out for September 2019-September 2020 places. Thanks to those that have been in touch to confirm and alter their child’s sessions. Spaces are filling up quickly with both current and new children, so if you still have to confirm or alter your sessions please get in touch with Kirsty or Monika to change or add to these sessions as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
As we arrange for September 2019, it has come to that time of the year again when our school leavers will be finding out which school they will be attending in September. At Headstart we hope all our children get their first choices of school to ensure we can promote a healthy transition. Please can we drop a quick email into setting letting us know which school you have been allocated so that the setting can begin to promote school transitioning and for the ladies to work in partnership with their new infant schools.
Dates for your calendar: today, Friday (12th April) is our last day before the Easter holidays we will return to setting on Monday 29th April 2019 after a two week break. We ask if you could please send pictures of your Easter Adventures via email to the setting so that we can share with the children what they have done over the break. Thank you.
Future reminder there will be no preschool on Monday 6th May 2019 due to the bank holiday falling on this day, thank you.
Polite reminder: as we are in the process of organising our annual summer BBQ we ask if any parents are able to donate raffle and tombola prizes. Maybe some of you can speak to your employers and drum up some support to help raise funds for the preschool. As a setting we have begun to send out letters to businesses in and around Selby to hope they are willing to support Headstart. Slips have gone out this week so you’re able to reserve your place at the BBQ on FRIDAY 17TH MAY 2019 from 4pm.
Parents will be receiving an email with regards to the new payment system. Invoices will be sent by Xero and a link within the email can be followed to pay the invoice amount.
If any parents have any spare clothes that they no longer need could they be so kindly to donate to Headstart. Our stocks are very low at the moment. Thank you. Also can we remember that children need spare clothes and wellies in their bags. We do get wet and dirty and children often need changing, sometimes several times a day.
Friday 3rd May 2019 will be our summer dress up day. We ask that children and staff come dressed in their summer clothes and bring in a bottle instead of a donation, so that we can stock our bottle stand at the BBQ. Thank you in advance.
