Another lovely week weather wise and the children have loved been outside with the water. As usual the sun is out and so is the hosepipe and water tray. We have been filling and emptying containers and discussed how water helps the plants in this heat as well as our bodies. We have talked about how to look after ourselves in the sunshine with sun-cream and sun hats. Inside the children have been creating structures with magnetic blocks and working as a team to try to stack and balance the blocks so their creations don’t tumble over.
Thank you to those that have returned their school leavers trip replies and monies. There are still some outstanding can we ensure that they are in setting promptly so that we can organise the trip and staff accordingly.
Thank-you to all those that attended our summer fair last Friday, we rose over a fantastic £643.60 towards more resources for our setting and children. We are hoping to develop our outside area mainly and this has helped greatly.
Lost property is currently been stored on the shelf in the cloakroom. We ask if you could have a look through to see if your child has any belongings they may have left over this term.
After attending a closing the gap course at Longman’s Hill School last night, evidence shows that children are potentially losing a huge amount of words between birth and five years nationally. As a setting we are encouraging children to learn new words daily through books and conversation. As part of working in partnership with the school we will be looking at books and using new words we find within them in our daily communication. We ask if parents could share as many books as possible with your children and build up their vocabulary and share these new words with us when we return after the week break.
We break up today for a week’s break and will return Monday 3rd June at 9am. Hope you all have lovely fun-filled break and look forward to hearing about it when we get back.
