Newsletter 29 March 2019
The weather has been very kind to us this week and we have enjoyed being able to play in the big garden. The children have spent most of their time outside being very physical, running around and climbing on the climbing equipment. They have explored the mud kitchen and have been hunting for worms and other creepy crawlies. Please can we remember to bring extra sets of clothes and wellies for the children as this weather prompts water play and the children and ladies love getting wet.
For the attention of our school leavers: There has been a letter sent home this week regarding our annual school leaver’s trip. We have chosen to return to Piglets Adventure Farm in York this year. The date will be Friday 19th July 2019, meeting from 9am at the Headstart carpark (no children or parent’s admitted into setting at this time as the session will continue to run for those younger children). Headstart will be funding 95% of the coach fair, which will be picking us up at 915am and returning from York at 2pm. The cost of the trip including tickets and coach is £12, admitting one child and one adult. Please return reply slips and monies to setting as soon possible to ensure the trip is planned successfully. Thank you.
Session checklists have been sent out for September 2019-September 2020 places. Thanks to those that have been in touch to confirm and alter their child’s sessions. Spaces are filling up quickly with both current and new children, so if you still have to confirm or alter your sessions please get in touch with Kirsty or Monika to change or add to these sessions as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
We are asking for children to bring in photographs of their families so we can create our family board. Can we label these pictures so we can talk about them with your children.
Dates for your calendar: we break up for the Easter holidays on Friday 12th April and return to setting on Monday 29th April 2019 after a two week break. We ask if you could please send pictures of your Easter Adventures via email to the setting so that we can share with the children what they have done over the break. Thank you.
Polite reminder: as we are in the process of organising our annual summer BBQ we ask if any parents are able to donate raffle and tombola prizes. May be some of you can speak to your employers and drum up some support to help raise funds for the preschool. As a setting we have begun to send out letters to businesses in and around Selby to hope they are willing to support Headstart. Details of the BBQ will follow shortly.
Mother’s Day bags have been sent out this week and the last bits today, if you have yet to receive yours please do get in touch and let us know.
Next week and the following week will be planning for Easter. We are planning on doing some Easter baking and crating Easter crafts. For our final week it will be party week, in which the children will be having party snacks, party music and being creative and making crafty bits.
