Newsletter 3 May 2019
Welcome back to all our children and families. We hope you all had a lovely break and have enjoyed hearing about your Easter fun. It is nice to welcome our new children into setting, they have made a great start here and have settled lovely into routines.
Parental forms have been sent out this week so your child’s keyworker and yourselves are able to share special moments of your child’s development. We ask if you could possibly tick the statements on your child’s checklist, of statements that they capable of doing at home and return to setting, signed as soon as possible. This is so that your child’s keyworker is able to mark off their development on their tracking sheets with the use of parental knowledge. Thank you.
We have had a mixed back of weather this week. We have shared ice pops in the sunshine and jumped in muddy puddles and made a muddy mess. The children have enjoyed been able to use the big garden this week and have definitely made the most of the space in the garden. Looks like this wet weather is stay for a short while so can we remember to bring wellies and extra sets of clothes for your children. Thank you.
Inside the children have enjoyed getting creative with paints and mouldable soap. We have seen some fantastic creations as the children have used their imagination to build, mould and decorate. We have had a mini disco this morning, dancing, singing and talking about how exercise affects our bodies.
Thank you to those that have returned their school leavers trip replies and monies. There are still some outstanding can we ensure that they are in setting promptly so that we can organise the trip and staff accordingly.
We are glad to hear that all our school leavers got their chosen schools come September. In setting we will be discussing transitions and using role play and activities to explain the next step in your child’s life. So far the response from the children has been fantastic and the grasp on their new school taken on board. We have some mature children that are ready for reception class and look forward to the next step.
Reminder there will be no preschool on Monday 6th May 2019 due to the bank holiday falling on this day, thank you. We will return Tuesday 7th May 2019 at 900am.
Polite reminder: as we are in the process of organising our annual summer BBQ we ask if any parents are able to donate raffle and tombola prizes. Maybe some of you can speak to your employers and drum up some support to help raise funds for the preschool. As a setting we have begun to send out letters to businesses in and around Selby to hope they are willing to support Headstart. Slips have gone out this week so you’re able to reserve your place at the BBQ on FRIDAY 17TH MAY 2019 from 4pm.
If any parents have any spare clothes that they no longer need could they be so kindly to donate to Headstart. Our stocks are very low at the moment. Thank you. Also can we remember that children
