Newsletter 5 April 2019
The weather has changed a lot since last week and turned cold and bitter. We have been in the little garden this week as the big garden has been too boggy and wet in areas. The children have loved making a car wash and cleaning the cars and bikes. Water has been very successful; think we have a large group of water babies on our hands. They have loved getting the big tracks out for the trains and cars to go along and created role plays to play alongside the resources. Inside we have made Easter crispie nests and used our Easter resources to make little Easter baskets/gardens and have been searching for eggs.
Thank you to those that have returned their school leavers trip replies and monies. There are still some outstanding can we ensure that they are in setting promptly so that we can organise the trip and staff accordingly.
Session checklists have been sent out for September 2019-September 2020 places. Thanks to those that have been in touch to confirm and alter their child’s sessions. Spaces are filling up quickly with both current and new children, so if you still have to confirm or alter your sessions please get in touch with Kirsty or Monika to change or add to these sessions as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
We are asking for children to bring in photographs of their families so we can create our family board. Can we label these pictures so we can talk about them with your children.
Dates for your calendar: next Friday (12th April) is our last day before the Easter holidays we will return to setting on Monday 29th April 2019 after a two week break. We ask if you could please send pictures of your Easter Adventures via email to the setting so that we can share with the children what they have done over the break. Thank you.
Polite reminder: as we are in the process of organising our annual summer BBQ we ask if any parents are able to donate raffle and tombola prizes. May be some of you can speak to your employers and drum up some support to help raise funds for the preschool. As a setting we have begun to send out letters to businesses in and around Selby to hope they are willing to support Headstart. Details of the BBQ have been published and sent out.
Next week we are planning on doing some Easter baking and creating Easter crafts. It will be party week with Easter snacks and party food as well as music and fun activities.
Parents will be receiving an email with regards to the new payment system. Invoices will be sent by Xero and a link within the email can be followed to pay the invoice amount.
If any parents have any spare clothes that they no longer need could they be so kindly to donate to Headstart. Our stocks are very low at the moment. Thank you. Also can we remember that children need spare clothes and wellies in their bags. We do get wet and dirty and children often need changing, sometimes several times a day.
Slips have been sent home today with regards to BBQ tickets. Get in quick and reserve your place!!
